Zinc and Aluminium thermally sprayed coatings for the protection of steel structures against corrosion.

This training course is directed to applicators and specifiers of protective coatings in order to maximise the benefits which can be obtained by the use of thermally sprayed coatings.

Obviously there is much expertise and experience already available in this field but in this competetive industry the best possible understanding of corrosion and its prevention, together with a knowledge of best current practice, will be of benefit to all.
Sessions will include:
  • Corrosion. A general description of the theory. Galvanic series
  • Description of the electric arc and combustion processes and their relative merits.
  • Coating structure
  • Sealing
  • Materials. Zinc/Aluminium and their characteristics. Thicknesses and Measurements
  • Design for coatings. Pre preparation
  • Preparation. Abrasive blasting
  • Applications
  • Health and Safety
  • British/Euro Standards (BS EN ISO)
Courses may be tailor made to suit customer requirements. Duration 1 or 2 days
